The Three Pillars of Mental and Physical Health

If health is what you seek, your pathway is below…

Sleep

Good data has shown that sleep is important in preventing and helping to cure numerous diseases, including depression, anxiety, heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure, headaches, constipation and other problems.

Sleep has been shown to improve memory and concentration in undergraduate students by as much as 20%.

Almost every single person on the planet requires 7-9 hours of sleep daily. We strongly urge EVERYBODY to get 8 hours of sleep every night and that people keep a regular bed time and regular wake-up time on a daily basis.

Diet

Food is fuel for your body and brain. Depriving oneself of food results in headaches, irritability, depression, poor concentration, worsened memory, heart disease and WEIGHT GAIN. Irregular food intake results in a slower metabolism and a tendency to binge, snack and stress eat.

We strongly recommend three solid meals daily, including BREAKFAST! If you are going to have snacks throughout the day, we recommend that you plan and take fruit for snacks.

Exercise

An enormous amount of evidence has come out over the past five years showing that regular exercise is as good as an antidepressant for moderate depression and that it helps calm anxiety. It also improves memory, concentration, helps maintain cognitive function into older age and improves self esteem in addition to everything it does for your cardiovascular and respiratory systems.

There is no such thing as too much exercise when it comes to your brain!!!

Get aerobic exercise at least five times a week for thirty minutes. Your body and your brain will be better for it!
