To Schedule Your Appointment: Call 515-294-5801

Student Health makes an effort to serve as many patients as possible each day and to work around your busy class schedules. We utilize an appointment-based scheduling model to ensure there are available appointments each day.

Please call 515-294-5801 for an appointment.

If you would like to speak with the Pharmacy directly, please call 515-294-7983.

Choosing Your Provider

You can either choose to have the same provider every time you visit, just like you do at home, or you can ask for the first available appointment. No matter what, all providers have access to your medical records and can see your medical chart on the computer at the time of your visit.

Whichever you choose, we’ll do our best to accommodate your busy schedule and work with you to get an appointment that meets your needs.

Checking In

Your Iowa State ID Card is REQUIRED at check in. Students must show their current Iowa State ID to receive services.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. This allows you to have time to fill out any needed paperwork, file insurance information, get a parking pass, and will maximize the amount of time you are able to spend with your medical provider.

Self check-in kiosks

If you have been to the clinic before and already have an appointment, you can use the self check-in kiosks to check in. Just swipe your Iowa State ID Card, and the system will walk you through registration.

Cancelling Appointments

To increase appointment slots available, students who cannot make their appointment as scheduled are encouraged to cancel the appointment, so it can be used for someone else. Appointments should be cancelled a minimum of two hours prior to the scheduled time, however we request that you call to cancel your appointment no matter how close it is to your visit’s time. This allows us to accommodate as many students as possible.

Arriving Late

If you are more than 6 minutes late for your appointment you may be asked to reschedule your appointment to another time.

Class Excuses

Class attendance is an individual student responsibility and a matter between you and your professors. With very limited exceptions, Student Health providers do not give class excuses. The policy on class excuses should be reviewed for more information.
